Prior to joining Northzone, Christoffer was COO and Head of Verticals for Avito, one of the largest marketplaces in the world. Northzone was an early investor in Avito and exited to Naspers in 2015, making it one of Northzone’s most successful investments to date. Christoffer joined Avito in Moscow in 2012, and as a part of the executive management team, he played an integral part in growing the company’s revenues by 50x and the headcount from 50 to 1300 employees.
”I believe that the secret to our success was that we had a very clear view on what we were trying to achieve, a laser focus on the things that really counted to take us there and a willingness to take bold bets on what we believed was the winning strategy.”, says Christoffer. “Those are some of the qualities I will be looking for in companies in my role as an investor.”
At Northzone, Christoffer will focus on companies with network effects, and marketplaces in particular.
