Jackson joined Northzone in 2017 and is based in London. As Deputy CFO, he works closely with Stine to ensure Northzone runs a tight ship, and is responsible for portfolio reporting to Northzone’s Limited Partners, and ensuring the smooth running of operations.
Jackson is no stranger to the world of venture capital. Before joining Northzone, he was Financial Controller at IP Group, a FTSE-listed VC firm specialising in university spin-outs. There, he helped improve systems and build the portfolio monitoring process as they scaled- something that comes in handy at Northzone, with its geographically distributed portfolio and team.
“I’ve always been drawn to the startup world. Combining analytical rigour with the challenge and flexibility required to support fast-growth companies in achieving their potential is incredibly rewarding,” says Jackson.
Prior to his move into venture capital, Jackson sharpened his numerical edge at PwC, joining their graduate scheme and rising up the ranks in the Insurance and Investment management audit department. But he is not all about the numbers. Outside of work, he is a keen downhill mountain biker and skier, having spent seasons in Canada and the USA.
Jackson holds a first class BSc in Nanoscience and an MA in Global Political Economy from the University of Sussex, and an ACA from the ICEAW.
