With a penchant for numbers and a talent for diplomancy, Genine joined Northzone in 2014 and is responsible for keeping Northzone a lean and mean productivity machine.
A true Londoner, Genine started her career in travel, testing luxury hotels around the world and went on to manage a corporate travel agency in London. When a passion for figures overtook the love of travel, Genine moved into accountancy. Moving to Norway in 2007 as Accountant for the British Embassy in Oslo, Genine successfully combined the challenge of working within tight budgets whilst learning diplomacy skills.
Wanting to hone her skills in Norwegian, Genine then moved into the private sector, as Corporate Accountant for Steen & Strøm Norge AS, an American owned multinational company. At Steen & Strøm Genine had responsibility for some of the largest accounts at the Norwegian head office.
Looking for her next source of inspiration, Genine turned to Northzone. After being blown away by her colleagues’ level of expertise, she plays an integral role in this dynamic team as the Controller; a role where her combined expertise and passion for financial analysis will be made the most of.
Genine holds a BA (Hons) in Management from The University of East London and has qualified as a Norwegian government authorised Accountant from the Handelshøyskolen BI in Oslo.
In her spare time, you can find her organising an annual charity fashion night in aid of Doctors Without Borders. This event has grown to such proportions that some of the largest Norwegian national publications have written about it.
